Franschhoek Dieu Donne Wedding

Lizzy & Shil

Lizzy & Shil’s Franschhoek Dieu Donne wedding was certainly one for the books.  Different in every aspect of any wedding we’ve ever documented!

Where does one even begin?  Well, we can start off by saying that Lizzy and Shil took the record for the longest wedding we’ve ever covered; clocking in at a whopping 15 hours!  The fact that 2 completely different ceremonies happened on the same day was rather unique too.  Even the guests had several outfit changes for the different aspects of the day.

So how does a couple form the UK end up having a Franschhoek Dieu Donne wedding?  Lizzy and Shil had their hearts set on destination wedding in South Africa.  They both do work here from time to time.     Everyone who attended their wedding had the best time ever!  Many friends and family members actually made a holiday out of it.

Lizzy and Shil chose the gorgeous Franschhoek Valley for their destination wedding.  They’d absolutely fallen in love with Roca on Dieu Donne Wine Estate.

It’s not hard to see why.  This venue really does take the cake for gorgeous views, no matter what time of day or season of the year.  The setting is truly spectacular. After taking a few getting ready shots of both Lizzy and Shil, the first event for the day was the English ceremony.  Afterwards the couple and guests changed into traditional Indian outfits and enjoyed a vegetarian meal.  Next up was the Indian ceremony.  Having traveled to India ourselves, we were transported straight back to this exotic country filled with the gorgeous aromas and traditions we’d experienced on our travels around India.  Everything was so bright and colourful, and both Lizzy and Shil as well as all of their guests looked amazing.  We loved the crazy dance moves of the procession coming into the ceremony.

After the Indian ceremony,  guests enjoyed canapes, wine tasting and sundowners out on the lawn.  What a perfect ending to an amazing day.  The evening ceremony was loads of fun and filled with lots more crazy dance moves.

Lizzy and Shil, thank you for choosing us to document your gorgeous Franschhoek Dieu Donne wedding.   It certainly was  a documentary feast!  We hope you love your photos and that they take you straight back to your special day!
