Hudsons Destination Wedding

Kym & Paul

What an honour to be a part of Kym and Paul’s South African Hudsons destination wedding.  What a perfect day it was.  They had THE most beautiful Autumn weather and light in Cape Town.  So many of their guests had made the long journey down south.  The gorgeous weather was just the cherry on the top!

We’re always amazed at couples who plan their weddings from abroad.  Then again when you have the awesome Hudsons team, it certainly helps make things a whole lot easier.

We first met Kym and Paul during their whistle stop trip to Cape Town a few months ago.  We got to spend some time with them when we did their engagement shoot on Signal Hill.  We soon learnt that these two love the outdoors and being in nature.  Their style is minimalistic, with a touch of elegance.  They hold those dear to them very close to the heart and they are undoubtedly madly in love!  From the moment we met them, we were so looking forward to their Hudsons destination wedding.

Don’t you just love Kym’s dress?  What a beautiful design by Catherine Deane and something so different.

I must say, as a photographer, and I know this is crazy, but a beautiful wedding dress that fits a bride perfectly is one of the biggest influences on the way your wedding photos turn out.  Just look at the online debate on Meghan’s dress lately.  Well, all we can say is, Kym you certainly nailed this one!  Your dress was simply GORGEOUS!

The ceremony was held on the lawn next to the lake.  Such a perfect setting.  It was so special that the service was conducted by Kym’s childhood minister.  It makes things so much more personal.  And the little ring bearer – just so cute!

Light fades quickly in April, but with that comes pretty skies and unusual light.  We had both during Kym & Paul’s couple shoot.

Kym and Paul, thank you so much for trusting us with your special memories.  It’s been wonderful getting to know you!  We absolutely loved being part of your Hudsons destination wedding.

Some absolutely stunning photos here (plus a few silly ones of me with flowers behind my ears that I’d forgotten about!!). You’ve captured the afternoon & evening perfectly and have brought back some fabulous memories of a day we were able to spend with a couple very much in love, thank you!
