From Our News Stand
This section of our website is dedicated to newsflashes of what we get up to in between our wedding and lifestyle shoots. If we are not travelling, we are usually concentrating on our creative photography or taking on new challenges to take our skills to the next level.
Although we focus mainly on wedding photography, our portfolio has grown to include a substantial amount of commercial photography too. Some of these include interior photography, graduation photography, and product photography.
We’ve recently completed a number of food photography assignments. These assignments allow us to experiment with creative lighting techniques and angles in a studio environment. This is very different to our usual style of shooting and adds diversity to our work.
We are the official photographers for the annual Homemakers Expo held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Seeing the creativity on display makes it easy to understand why Cape Town was awarded the World Design Capital for 2014. We realize how fortunate we are to live in this fabulous city and we are honoured to be associated with this event.
We have been featured in a number of both online publications and printed magazines. Seeing your work showcased on the pages of a glossy magazine, is a feather in any photographer’s cap. We’re very grateful to our wonderful couples who made this possible.
One of the more unusual requests we received was to photograph a C-section birth. Not for the squeamish, but nevertheless a privilege to photograph a little human’s entry into this world. As an artist it’s important to fuel your creativity every now and again and to “recharge the batteries.” It is very easy to get bogged down by all of the admin and editing and sometimes you feel as though you are suffering from a severe case of cabin fever! To walk around the Cape Town inner city and the quaint little fishing village of Kalk Bay, are two of our favourite pastimes. Add a few gastronomic delights along the way, and we feel like a million dollars again. It also gives us the opportunity for some creative photography.
Nothing beats taking time off and heading out into countryside. Some of our much-loved villages to explore are Riebeek-Kasteel, McGregor, Greyton and Calitzdorp. Few things are better for the soul than going for a drive on a lonely dirt road in the middle of the Karoo.
